This talk gives an understanding of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) as a polymer, synthetic fibres in general and PEEK Zyex® fibres in particular. Topics include:

• where PEEK fits in relation to other materials
• the properties of PEEK including its chemical and wear resistance and performance at high temperatures
• where PEEK is used – product forms and applications - principally as a fibre, ZYEX®, drawing on examples in the aerospace, industrial and leisure markets such as sports and music strings
• the future of PEEK in fibres
